Outline for Essay Eight
You will use the template from Essay Seven on page 86 of your workbook.
The element of Testimony will be added as one or more of your proofs.
You will choose to use either an eyewitness or a character witness to support your thesis.
If you are doing a topic that could involve case studies or other such research, those may count as either eyewitness or character witness testimonies.
For example:
Issue: Whether Lucy’s siblings should believe her that there is a wintery world on the other side of the wardrobe.
Thesis: Lucy’s siblings should believe her that there is a wintery world on the other side of the wardrobe.
Proof 1: Lucy’s character
Sub-proof 1: Her siblings grew up with her/knew her well
Sub-proof 2: She had never lied to them before
Sub-proof 3: They witnessed her pure character when dealing with Edmund’s bullying
